Karen Weekly is one of the most prolific softball players in NCAA history. She holds numerous records, including the all-time NCAA Division I home run record. Weekly is a three-time All-American and was named the USA Softball National Player of the Year in 2015. She helped lead her team to the national championship in 2014 and 2015.

Early life and career

Karen Weekly was born on June 20, 1993, in Fresno, California. She began playing softball at a young age and quickly showed a natural talent for the game. Weekly played for the Clovis West High School softball team and was named the Fresno Bee Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012. She was also a member of the USA Softball Junior National Team.

College career

Weekly attended the University of Florida from 2013 to 2016. She played for the Florida Gators softball team and quickly became one of the most feared hitters in the country. Weekly set numerous records during her college career, including the all-time NCAA Division I home run record with 94. She also holds the single-season NCAA Division I home run record with 36, which she set in 2015. Weekly was named a three-time All-American and was named the USA Softball National Player of the Year in 2015. She helped lead the Gators to the national championship in 2014 and 2015.

Professional career

Weekly was drafted first overall by the Chicago Bandits of the National Pro Fastpitch league in 2016. She has played for the Bandits for the past six seasons and has helped them win three NPF championships. Weekly is one of the most popular players in the league and is a fan favorite. She has been named to the All-NPF team three times and was named the NPF Player of the Year in 2018. Weekly is also a member of the USA Softball Women's National Team and has helped them win two gold medals at the World Championships.
